CAMP HILL, Pa. (Dec. 11, 2024) -- The Pennsylvania Hunger Action Coalition (PHAC) will meet for its biannual meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13 in Camp Hill. PHAC is working not only to fight hunger, but also to address the underlying policy issues that perpetuate food insecurity.
The coalition will bring together representatives from dozens of groups working to craft policies and initiatives to advance food security across the commonwealth. Coalition members also will co-convene with state officials of the PA Food Policy Council to strategize around challenges facing vulnerable children, seniors, families, and communities.
The co-convening meeting with the PA Food Policy Council will feature an interactive roundtable discussion on food security featuring Agriculture Sec. Russell Redding, Aging Sec. Jason Kavulich, and Catherine Stetler, special assistant to Department of Human Services Sec. Val Arkoosh.
“So many of our residents face barriers consistently accessing nutritious food, and the impact of hunger on communities is enormous and only growing,” Hunger-Free Pennsylvania Executive Director and council advisory committee member Stuart I.R.
